The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Preventive Medicine in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a Public Health Physician to be based in the Division of Preventive Medicine. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the worlds top 50 medical schools and as one of Canadas premier health-education institutions. The University is currently home to more than 38,000 students with more than 15,000 faculty and staff.
The Division of Preventive Medicine is home to two Royal College accredited residency training programs, one in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and another in Occupational Medicine. Faculty members in the division engage in a range of research projects from evidence-based medicine to population health to bench research and provide clinical service in Public Health as well as Occupational Medicine.
Key accountabilities of the Public Health Physician will include, but will not be limited to, engagement in research with a focus on Public Health and Preventive Medicine, contribution to the educational programs in the Division of Preventive Medicine, and provision of Public Health related clinical service.
The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment in the Department of Medicine, with the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic medicine & Health Services Program (AMHSP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
