Alberta Health Services in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications from CanREACH trained physicians to work in Community Mental Health Clinics in Edmonton Zone.

Alberta Health Services is Canadas largest and only province-wide health service provider, providing care for more than 4 million people.Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of nursing, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, education, and speech language pathology provide education and assistance for more than 1.4 million people in Edmonton and surrounding areas

The Family Physician or Pediatrician, preferably CanREACH trained (i.e. additional mental health training to work with children and youth), will provide mental health care to children and youth in community clinics (Sherwood Park & Fort Saskatchewan Mental Health Clinics) for those who are not in need of psychiatric management but would still benefit from medical management with psychotropic medications. The family physicians will work with the multidisciplinary team within the clinic for collaborative care.

Remuneration will be based on fee-for-service billings submitted to Alberta Health.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry. Candidates will preferably be a CanREACH trained Family Physician or Pediatrician or a Pediatrician with substantial expertise and experience working with children and youth with mental health issues.
