Responsibilities/Duties:

The CSA will perform a range of procedures that can include: first and second assisting for cardiac surgery during the day and after hours 24/7. Services include first assisting, conduit harvesting and any task directed by the surgeon. A complete list of procedures as per Business Plan can be provided. Administrative role includes reporting on all activities and cases as well as procedures to Alberta Health. A CSA will function as the first assistant 8:00am – 6:00pm in three ORs Monday and Tuesday and in two ORs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A first assistant is also required in the fourth OR on Monday and Tuesday and third OR on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm for any extended surgeries. On call physician must be able to arrive at the hospital within 20 min for emergency.

This position is for Family Physicians.

Qualifications:

The candidate must be eligible for unrestricted Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Must read, write and speak English.

Compensation:

Calgary Cardiac Surgery Clinical ARP
