Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, invites applications for a Cardiologist to join a dynamic team at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an outstanding practice opportunity to work on a committed and creative team serving local and outlying communities in Alberta’s Edmonton Zone.

As a major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, the Covenant family (Covenant Health, Covenant Care, and Covenant Living) works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in our hospitals, health centres and continuing care centres.

You will be joining a team of Cardiologists with whom you will collaborate to deliver inpatient care and consultation services to hospital patients. This position will participate in the program’s on-call in-patient schedule while maintaining a community-based practice.

Key clinical accountabilities will include, but will not be limited to: equitable Pacemaker service, Outpatient General Cardiology Clinic, Inpatient service, Emergency Triage, CCU coverage and equitable share of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be an MD (or equivalent) with certification in Cardiology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and have subspecialty training in pacemaker implantation and programming. Preference will be given to applicants with echocardiography training Level 3.

Candidates will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered through a separate process with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Compensation:

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
