The ZMAC Chair is a medical leadership role that is instrumental in the management of medical affairs in the Zone through the Zone Medical Administrative Committee, and provincially through membership on the Provincial Practitioner Executive Committee (PPEC) and the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules Review Committee (MSBRRC).

ZMAC is advisory to the Zone Medical Director on matters pertinent to quality and safe Patient care. The Chair of ZMAC is responsible for making sure that ZMAC meetings are planned collaboratively with the Zone Medical Director, conducted effectively according to rules of order, and minutes and action items are managed efficiently.

The ideal candidate for Chair of ZMAC is a Medical Leader that speaks clearly and succinctly, remains impartial and objective; is approachable and tactful, and is committed to effective and respectful meeting management. Strong clinical experience and skills is an asset. Pre-existing experience, or willingness to develop an understanding of rules of order and principles of effective meeting management is an important component of success. Commitment to quality medical care and AHS values is essential.
