Alberta Health Services is currently seeking the services of an independently licensed physician to assist in the management of medical inpatients on the Hematology Service at the University of Alberta Hospital in the Edmonton Zone.
We are recruiting a physician to start as soon as possible. The successful applicant will provide scheduled service on the Hematology Inpatient Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital. Clinical responsibilities will include completing admissions, providing daily assessments and active management of inpatients, minor procedures and discharge summaries, under the supervision of the Hematology Attending Staff. Full-time Clinical Associates/Hospitalists will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, except holidays. There is no evening or weekend call.

Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent and must hold independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Ideal applicants should have ACLS and experience in the clinical management of acute medical inpatients. Clinical experience in the area of hematology/oncology and in the performance of bone marrow biopsies, as well as experience working in Connect Care, would be assets.
