Alberta Health Services is currently recruiting fully licensed physician(s) to manage the medical needs of patients admitted to the Sturgeon Community Hospital Intensive Care/Coronary Care Unit. The Clinical Associate role involves working under the direction and supervision of the staff Intensivist/Cardiologist.

Hours of work are 0700-1915 and 1900-0715 on site (7 days a week). Various dates and shifts are available.

The Sturgeon Community Hospital (SCH) Intensive Care and Cardiology programs serves individuals with acute, severe and complex health issues. The inpatient Intensive Care Program offers treatment by an interdisciplinary health care team consisting of consisting of nurses and Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Dieticians, Social Workers, and Pharmacists. The team works closely with, Emergency Physicians, Surgeons and Internal Medicine generalists and subspecialists. Participation in the acute care HCT on-call roster is an expectation for the position.

Successful Candidates will have a functional knowledge of resources and challenges in Albertas healthcare system. This knowledge will be supported by the candidate having completed a Medical residence and by ongoing critical care experience.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have superior interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and peer relationships. Technical skills are also required as this position is procedure heavy. The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the larger Critical Care Provider program at the SCH.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Significant Critical Care experience is required
