The Adult Psychosis Program (APP) is a tertiary level care, sub-specialty & multi-disciplinary program based out of Outpatient Mental Health Services at the Foothills Medical Centre dedicated to providing specialized assessments and follow-up care to individuals with a complex and/or treatment-resistant psychotic disorder and to individuals over the age of 35 with a first episode psychosis. APP serves over 600 patients through 13 clinics staffed by 9 psychiatrists and is supported by multiple full-time nurse case managers, occupational therapy, social work, psychology and CMHA ILS workers.

The CMD coordinates the medical and non-medical staff to ensure successful implementation of the Phase 2 clinic redesign process. This includes, but is not limited to, attending team meetings to promote the change process, meeting with clinicians to provide feedback on clinic metrics and support overcoming barriers to meeting change goals. The CMD recruits and manages physicians working within the clinic. Liaises with CMDs from the Early Psychosis Intervention Program and Mood Disorders Program to ensure coordination of care for patients with Severe and Persisting Mental Illness. The CMD also conducts annual physician assessments, responds to patient complaints or staffing concerns.
