CMD Youth Intervention Services Part-time Job1 month ago Doctor / Physician Calgary 9 views
The FTE for this position is 0.09.
We are recruiting a CMD position for the Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPIP), which is the only program across the Calgary zone and surrounding catchment area that serves the vast majority of patients with first episode psychosis. This severely affected patient group accounts for a significant number of admissions to acute care psychiatric units.
Adolescence and early/young adulthood is the highest risk period for new onset psychotic disorders. Specialized early intervention for psychosis is key to limit psychotic symptoms and improve functional outcomes compared to standard/general care settings.
The CMD is responsible for the medical leadership within the multidisciplinary context of the EPIP (Early Psychosis Intervention Program) team. The CMD liaises extensively with both the adult and the child and adolescent systems across the Calgary zone. The CMD created a pathway to care for the Child and Adolescent system that helps to prevent breakdowns and delays in the referral pathway.
