Job Details

Clinical Medical Director Practitioner(s) filling this position will assess, make recommendations, and follow patients within the AHS Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) clinic. Psychiatrists function within an interdisciplinary team providing holistic care to patients, and participate in the weekly DBT Consult Group. Prior knowledge of DBT theory and commitment to participating in a DBT-adherent team is preferred, although can also be developed within the position through internal mentorship and a commitment to seeking out DBT Foundational Training. Psychiatrists on our team have the opportunity to collaborate as clinical preceptors and educators for the medical students and residents rotating through this training site. Since the pandemic, a substantial amount of this work is being performed virtually, although on-site work is also required as well to serve the full population of patients adequately. All psychiatrists working at AHS community clinics also participate in the on-call roster serving our communitys acute care hospitals.
