Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, the Department of Internal Medicine, and divisions of Neurology and Critical Care at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, invite applications for a Critical Care Physician to establish a full-time practice in the City of Red Deer. This role includes but is not limited to providing consultation services, admissions, medical emergency team outreach (ACCESS), ongoing daily care, and code blue coverage for Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Neurocritical care experience is a significant asset. Neurology services will include general inpatient neurology and EEG reading. Successful applicants are required to participate in on-call coverage for both divisions, with combined call requirements to be mutually agreed upon by the successful applicant and the relevant ZCSCs.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Red Deer, or immediate surrounding area;
- Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
- Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
- Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Critical Care and Neurology call schedule, as required;
- Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine;
- Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
- Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
- Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

- Have sub-specialty certification or equivalent in Critical Care Medicine;
- Must have recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required
