Responsibilities/Duties:

The Deputy Department Head should have a good working knowledge of both Obstetrics and Surgical Gynecology.
They will oversee the development and implementation of new quality improvement initiatives as it relates to
clinical operations, and the daily functioning of the indivivual sites. They would coordinate and oversee the
continuing professional development of the physician group. The Deputy Department Head will provide additional
support for difficult patient complaints, including serving as lead on second level reviews, and obtaining zone level
involvement. The Deputy Head assists the Site Leaders and Section Leads as needed. Site and Section Leads will
report directly to the Deputy Department Head, and the Department Head for all operational issues.
The Deputy Department Head will act as the formal liaison with the University of Calgary, acting as a representative
of the department at all meetings when deemed appropriate by the Department Head.

Qualifications:

FRCSC Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Incumbent must be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
and a member in good standing.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.

Compensation:

$46, 398 per annum
