Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone, invites applications for the role of Deputy Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief (ZCDFC), Family Medicine Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.10 FTE position, governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports directly to the Zone Clinical Department Head (ZCDH), Family Medicine and the Facility Medical Director (FMD), RAH.
This position is critical in managing family physicians providing hospitalist and post-acute care with our HCT and TU programs at RAH in the Edmonton Zone. The Deputy Facility Chief role is responsible for assisting the Facility Chief with the daily operations of the hospitalist Family Medicine team, ensuring quality and continuous review of performance and other metrics and liaison with other teams across the Zone.
This position also provides input into developing policies related to Family Medicine, reviewing and recommending privileges for physicians at RAH, and evaluating the performance of medical staff working within the Department.
This role is essential to continue the liaison between other teams at the facility level, particularly General Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and the other hospitalist teams in the Zone.
This role has an expected start date of Aug 1st, 2023 and an expected term of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, physician and stakeholder engagement, and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader, possess experience in medical leadership, and be considered a strong clinician by their peers. The successful candidate will also possess superior interpersonal skills and have demonstrated supervisory or management experience.
Candidates must be College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) certified, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.
