1 month ago   Doctor / Physician   Calgary   11 views
Job Details

The hospitalist group at the Peter Lougheed is the largest admitting service at the site. We pride ourselves in providing excellent patient-centered care through the continuum of hospital care: seeing patients in the ER and following them onto our inpatient units and organizing post-acute care. We are responsible for ordering treatments, tests, and consulting with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where appropriate. Addiction, mental health and social issues frequently complicate the medical issues; advocacy at the patient and system level will be a key part of this role.

We are looking for clinicians who are highly receptive and seek regular feedback. We expect that clinicians who are hired be involved with various quality improvement initiatives and be actively involved with other non-clinical activities (i.e. Attending business meetings, noon hour educational sessions, and participating in fundraisers/socials etc.).

There are 2 positions available starting on Jan 1, 2023. These will include regularly scheduled shifts and rounding for 2 weeks per month, and one night shift in the week prior to the first week of rounding. The successful candidates will work with a regular partner, trading off every 2 weeks and will also work with locums and other members.

Time Requirement:

0.7 - 1.0 Clinical FTE is anticipated. This will include up to 1-2 night shifts per week, as well as 1 weekend per four weeks. Additionally some evening shifts can be expected. Successful candidates will also be expected to round daily and act as most responsible physician for a group of admitted hospital patients.
