As well, the demands of the service will require the successful applicant to provide treatment or assessment services at the affiliated outpatient clinic (Forensic Assessment and Community Services - FACS clinic) as well. The position will be primarily inpatient based, however.

There are expected opportunities for the successful applicant to participate in Mental Health Court assessments, as well as involvement in the region AX clinic which provides rapid fitness assessments to the court.

The successful candidate will have an MD, preferably with a CCFP designation. Family Physicians who currently hold addiction medicine certification or specialization or who have a keen interest in learning addiction medicine are encouraged to express interest. Experience with addictions and an ability to manage Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) effectively is an assets.
