We are looking for a generalist Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a strong interest in obstetrics, particularly in immigrant population and addictions. Interest to work with/ at the refugee clinic and liaison with ARCH at PLC.

The applicant will be expected to run a fullObstetric and Gynecologic practice.Surgical time will be assigned by the department with input from the site leader. The applicantwill be added to the existing call group with the expectation to cover both Labour and Delivery as well as Gynaecology coverage.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
  • Must have FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Benefit having additional training or willingness to have additional training in addictions medicine.
  • Benefit of administrative duties interest.

    The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting for a generalist in the Department. Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta is required. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and preference will be given to a candidate with Royal College Subspecialty Certification. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cummings School of Medicine University of Calgary.

    Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone serves a population of ~1.2 million people. Calgary is a vibrant city close to Banff and the Rocky Mountains. The Zone includes presently 5 urban hospitals, (Foothills Medial Centre, Rockyview Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, South Health Campus and Alberta Childrens Hospital) comprehensive health centres and a variety of community and continuing care facilities.

    Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) is a secondary centre, and the primary site for this recruitment position. The position is at PLC and is a 1.0FTE.
