The Section of Hematology, AHS Calgary Zone, is accepting applications for a full-time General Hematologist. The successful candidate will take over an established practice and will attend on the hematology inpatient and consultation services. The inpatient service will transition to the New Calgary Cancer Center when it opens, providing opportunities to attend on a tertiary Acute Leukemia service in a state of the art facility.
The Section of Hematology consists of 28 full-time hematologists located at three acute-care sites in the City of Calgary, Alberta. The section represents the full breadth of hematology and includes the Alberta Blood and Marrow Transplant Program (which includes CAR T-cell therapy), the Southern Alberta Rare Blood and Bleeding Disorders Program and a city-wide Thrombosis Program. The section also provides care to patients with hematological malignancy at Tom Baker Cancer Center, Foothills Hospital and Peter Lougheed Hospital.
