The Department of Medicine (http://www.departmentofmedicine.com) in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services (http://www.albertahealthservices.ca) invites applications for a permanent position as an Infectious Disease Clinician-Scientist at the Clinical Assistant Professor level with additional expertise in the care and management of those individuals infected with HIV.
Primary clinical responsibilities will at various times include; providing inpatient general infectious disease consultancy services, (including weekend & night call), practicing within a busy but highly effective outpatient antimicrobial treatment program and outpatient HIV clinics administered through the auspices of the Southern Alberta HIV Clinic (SAC). These activities will entail working effectively with allied health colleagues and supervising and educating medical trainees as well as fully participating in collaborative clinical research. The ability to work collaboratively with other infectious disease/medical microbiology colleagues is essential and the successful applicant will be expected to be a regular contributor to ID section rounds and presentations.

Candidates must have evidence of strong clinical training and performance in the investigation and management of all infectious diseases and their clinical mimics. The successful candidate will also be an individual who has experience and expertise in HIV and AIDS outpatient care. Specifically, the individual will be experienced and knowledgeable with the diversity of current and imminent anti-retroviral therapies, the management of long-standing and emerging HIV-related comorbidities and the social determinants of HIV health.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
