Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, invites applications for an Infectious Diseases Physician to establish afull-time practice in the community of Red Deer at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. This position requires a scope of practice that includes adult Outpatient and Inpatient consultation services, including ICU and the Emergency Department, and Specialist On-call coverage. The successful applicants will participate in AHS-supported clinics that include RN and Pharmacy support.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Red Deer, or immediate surrounding area;
Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
Establish and maintain full time community based practice within the community;
Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the Infectious Disease call schedule, as required;
Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine;
Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

Required Qualifications:
Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC);
Have sub-specialty certification or equivalent in Infectious Diseases, or be currently enrolled in and Infectious Diseases Residency Program;
Must have recent and relevant experiencein all areas of practice required.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with marginalized populations or addiction medicine would be an asset.
