Covenant Health in partnership with Alberta Health Services invites applications for several Locum Psychiatrists to provide locum coverage at Villa Caritas in Edmonton, Alberta.

Villa Caritas is a 150-bed acute mental health facility that specializes in caring for seniors with complex mental and medical health issues. Villa Caritas provides appropriate, timely intervention and care for seniors with a focus on treating their conditions and transferring them back home or to an appropriate care setting. Villa Caritas is associated with Covenant Health's Community Geriatric Psychiatry Program, which provides follow up and support to seniors with mental illness living in the community.

This locum work will focus on in-patient work, with no out-patient or call requirements. Candidates are expected to have a good working knowledge of Connect Care.This is not a sponsorship eligible role.The locum term will begin as soon as possible, and end November 30, 2023.

Required:

MD or equivalent.

Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Certification in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety

Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) in the healthcare environment.

Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.

Preferred:

Holds an AHS/Covenant Health Medical Staff Appointment
