Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone, invites applications for the role of Medical Lead, Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Family Medicine.
This 0.10 FTE position, governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports directly to the Section of Community Family Medicine in the Department Head of Family Medicine (FM), working in a dyad relationship with their AHS executive dyad partner.
The role oversees Sexual Assault Response Team work across all sites. The Medical Lead works closely with other Family Medicine and Public Health leads and their operational partners to ensure the appropriate delivery of timely, safe and quality patient care in the Edmonton Zone.
The Medical Lead, SART will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being achieved. This position provides input and assists with the development of the sexual assault care protocol including on-going evaluation, review and revision to reflect best practices. Other major accountabilities include:
- Serving as a consultant to the SART team, program manager or Medical Officer of Health;
- Assisting in the on-going review of SART through program planning, implementation and evaluation; and
- Collaborating and liaising with physicians, police services, and health care providers regarding the SART Program role and program improvement.
This role has an expected start date of April 1st, 2023 and an expected term of 3 years.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader, ideally possessing experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers. The successful candidate will also possess superior interpersonal skills, and have demonstrated supervisory experience. The successful candidate also will be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Family Medicine.
Candidates must be Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) certified, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.
