The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a Neurologist to be based in the community with hospital opportunities at Royal Alexandra Hospital. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the worlds top 50 medical schools and as one of Canadas premier health-education institutions.

Key accountabilities of the FFS Neurologist will include butwill not be limited to call and ward duties at Royal Alexandra Hospital or University of Alberta Hospital, teaching of medical students, postgraduate medical education and fellows in Neurology as appropriate. The Division of Neurology works in teams and therefore ability to function in multi and interdisciplinary teams is essential.

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. He or she will be eligible to be certification in Neurology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. As well, he or she will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). The successful candidate MUST have a movement disorders fellowship completed at a Canadian university. Ability to perform injections for dystonia, tremor and parkinsonian disorders is required. Neurophysiology skills in diagnosis of movement disorders is preferred.
