The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services Calgary Zone and University of Calgary, Section of Orthopaedic Surgery invite applications for an 0.66 FTE permanent orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in shoulder reconstruction surgery. This is a job share position with two other shoulder surgeons currently at South Health Campus.
As this is an academic position (appointed to the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary), the successful candidate will be expected to participate in academic activities. Research activities include recruiting patients into on-going clinical trials; supervising trainee researchers, and initiating new clinical research projects with other members of the Division of Shoulder Surgery. The successful candidate will interact with learners at all levels of medical and surgical education, and experience as a medical educator is strongly preferred. Other leadership activities include committee work in various domains. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials.

Qualifications include an MD or equivalent, an active Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in Orthopaedic Surgery with additional fellowship training in shoulder reconstruction surgery and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. A major clinical focus in shoulder reconstruction surgery is required. The practice is at the South Health Campus in the Calgary Zone. The successful candidate will participate in a call schedule and treat single-limb trauma at South Health Campus.
