The Pediatric Brachial Plexus Clinic at the Alberta Childrens Hospital is seeking an existing Calgary Physiatrist to join the existing multidisciplinary clinic group. This clinic assesses and manages patients under the age of 18 years with brachial plexus and other peripheral nerve problems for which surgical intervention may be required. The clinic occurs monthly as a half-day clinic. The current multidisciplinary team includes a pediatric plastic surgeon, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist. Pediatric neurology participates when requested on an intermittent basis. Pediatric neurology currently performs EMG and nerve conduction studies, as required, for those children who require them. The ideal candidate would have an interest and expertise in shoulder and upper extremity pathology and would assist with functional assessment of children with shoulder and upper extremity pathology, help make recommendations about non-surgical interventions for these children and help to identify which children could benefit from secondary musculoskeletal surgery. Remuneration for this position will be on a fee-for-service basis, though qualified candidates presently participating in an AMHSP or clinical ARP would be considered. This position will commence in July 1, 2023. |

Qualifications:
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
