Alberta Health Services in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications from Psychiatrists to provide (0.5 FTE to 1.0 FTE) psychiatric services at Addiction Services Edmonton (ASE) and the Henwood Residential Treatment Centre (HTC). Flexibility for part time to full time work is available.
AHS is actively recruiting an Addiction trained psychiatrist. In this role, the psychiatrist will assess, diagnosis, and treat adult patients with mental illness and substance use disorders in both the outpatient and residential treatment centre setting. In addition, delivery of group treatment for patients with concurrent disorders will be a part of the position. Training in treatment of opioid use disorders is considered an asset. This is a collaborative practice with a team of psychiatrists, addiction counsellors, mental health therapists and program staff. This position offers practice in an exceptional team environment with excellent administrative support.
The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Psychiatry and are encouraged to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment.

Both sites provides education and training to medical learners of all levels. Henwood Treatment Centre is a 72-bed short-stay adult residential addiction treatment centre and Addiction Services Edmonton is an outpatient program. The Edmonton Zone is committed to building a network of sites that provide Excellence in Concurrent & Substance Use Disorders care
The successful candidate will have an MD and must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, for licensure in the province of Alberta and have additional certification or clinical experience in Addiction Psychiatry.
Remuneration will be based on highly competitive fee-for-service billings submitted to Alberta Health.
