Adult Psychiatrist needed to provide support to the Calgary Eating Disorder Program inpatient program, unit 32, FMC.
Brief Job description:
Calgary Eating Disorders Program (CEDP)under Child and Adolescent Addition and Mental Health/Psychiatry Program currently have 4 beds at FMC unit 32, with a dedicated treatment space on the 11th floor FMC.
Our program is fully staffed by our interdisciplinary Eating Disorders team, 24 hours/day.
All therapy and nutrition are provided by eating disorders staff members as part of a comprehensive structured care plan.
Patient medical care is provided through the Psychiatry Primary Care (PPC) program.
Patients are usually medically stable and there is NO expectation for psychiatry to provide medical care.
All patients are known to the CEDP, are screened for fit on the unit, and receive pre-care prior to being admitted.
Patients must be in action phase and ready to attempt change in order to be admitted.
Admissions occur on Mondays only and duration of stay is between 4-6 weeks.
Psychiatric support is needed to provide ongoing diagnostic clarity, psychiatric medication management, and consultation to the team. Patient care timing can occur at the physicians convenience. Team rounds participation is a requirement and occurs on Thursdays at 11:30pm. Position is available ASAP or negotiable.
Qualifications:
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
