This position is in Calgary, Alberta. Department In conjunction with site chiefs, develop strategic plans for the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) Maternal Newborn Care Section including quality, recruitment/retention and communication tools. Develop new service delivery models for obstetrical care. This work may include collaboration with Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Review and monitor Departmental obstetrical data and respond as required. As a member of the DFM Executive Committee, provide direction regarding obstetrical/newborn issues and input into departmental goals and objectives. Lead and support quality improvement, assurance and safety initiatives. Act as chairperson for the DFM Maternal Newborn Care Section meetings. Site Provide support to site chiefs as required. Work together with site chiefs to ensure investigations and responses to Patient Concerns are completed in a timely and appropriate manner. Work together with site chiefs to ensure Periodic Reviews for Section members are completed in a timely and appropriate manner. In collaboration with the ZCDH, complete annual site chief reviews. Provide support with Connect Care Calgary Zone Collaborate with the AHS Calgary Zone Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and with the Midwifery Program as appropriate to plan and deliver a high standard of obstetrical and newborn care. Qualifications:
Obtain/maintain an appointment with AHS Calgary Zone Hold Canadian College of Family Physicians certification (CCFP) Currently provide obstetrical care in an acute care setting Be an active participant in the MORE Program Independent Contractor status |
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Must read, write, and speak English. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority. |
