Alberta Health Services - Central Zone is currently recruiting for a full-time Urologist for Red Deer, Alberta, with travelling specialist duties in other possible communities within Central Zone This position requires a scope of practice that will include: Clinical Practice Inpatient Care, Outpatient Care, Emergency Consults and Specialist On-call Coverage. Candidates require recent and relevant experience in the scope of practice to be performed

Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre includes all surgical specialities except cardiac, thoracic, and neurosurgery. Additional anesthesia services are provided for an obstetrical operating room, a satellite day surgery centre in Innisfail, AB, and a pre-admission clinic. 12,500 - 12,750 surgical cases are performed at our centre annually. Pediatric patients with a minimum age of 1 are a part of our anesthesia practice. There is the opportunity for participation in medical teaching though the Red Deer based family medicine program and anesthesiology resident electives.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Required Competencies

  • Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of independent Urology practice where the candidate has been the Most Responsible Physician.

  • Previous inpatient experience

  • Applicant must also be able to provide proof of participation in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs

  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)

Compensation:

Fee for Service.

On Call Stipend – Physicians are remunerated for being on call.

Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Compensation Programs – AMA Membership compensation programs are under review and may be subject to change.
