Description: The Zone Clinical Department Section Chief for Family Medicine, Hospitalist is a medical leadership role governed by the AHS Medical Staff Rules and is responsible for overseeing clinical operations involving members of the Hospitalist team. The Section Chief reports to the Zone Clinical Department Head.
This position is responsibile to meet regualrly with the Department Head, provide periodic reviews for Department section members, and complete probationary assessments for new active members. The role of Section Chief is also to ensure on call coverage is in place and manage any issues that arise. Participating in Zone and Provincial work is required in addition to workforce planning, identifying needs and assisting with recruitment for the Department. Positively promoting and representing the activities of the Department Section as well as the facility are required.
Qualifications: The successful leader will have proven abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality care and patient safety. In addition to the leadership role there is a commitment to fulfilling clinical and non clinical duties as a representative of the Department Section.
